We choose to live in Howard because it is a great place to live. Our population has grown for several years and is projected to keep growing for several more. As we grow, I want to make sure the village continues to be a great place to live for all our residents. For me, this means we need to have the following:
- A wide variety of housing options at all price points
- Job opportunities that pay well
- Educational opportunities for all age groups
- A much greater emphasis on environmental stewardship
- Vibrant faith-based communities
- Trails, parks, and green spaces for outdoor recreation
- Access to public transportation
- More dining and entertainment options
- Well-run village services for an appropriate cost to the tax payer
Howard already does a good job with many of these things, but I am running for Village President because I believe some of these areas should be given a higher priority. Our village is blessed with a talented professional staff that does amazing work every day, and I look forward to the opportunity to work with them on these topics.
